AFC Leopards will host Kisumu All-Stars in a Kenya Premier League match in Machakos on Sunday afternoon.
The match had been initially scheduled to be played at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani a venue close and accessible to most fans. However, the team has been asked to stay away from the facility after a section of fans caused damage during our last KPL match.
The Kasarani management indicated that several seats were damaged and estimated the total cost of the damage to be Ksh337,000. The management further indicated that we have an outstanding bill of KShs 3, 014,240 from previous disturbances.
Therefore the total cost of a section of our fan’s ill-discipline and acts of hooliganism is KSh 3,351,240.
We, therefore, would like to urge our fans to exercise peace and restraint while attending our matches. A conducive stadium environment is not only attractive to more football lovers and partners but it saves the club a lot of money.
Due to the senseless and indefensible acts of a minority, we’re now forced to host our matches in Machakos until we foot the cost of hooliganism.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all in Machakos as we host Kisumu All-Stars on Sunday at 4.15 pm.
