AFC Leopards have moved to tenth in the Kenyan Premier League table after 2-0 win over Nairobi City Stars. Ingwe started the match brightly with the returning Noah Wafula finding space behind the City Stars defence to dip in a cross that went unanswered.

With the early intent noted, Leopards kept on pushing and a defensive error by former Ingwe man John Amboko allowed Noah Wafula to race through and slip the ball past the oncoming Fredrick Majani to make it 1-0 after six minutes of play. Humphrey Mieno should have extended the lead minutes later but his shot whistled just wide as City Stars crumbled to the pressure.

Ikenna scored the second goal for Leopards in the 12th minute from Imbalambala’s long throw. Pieter Hendrick De Jongh’s charges remained in control much of the first half, restricting the hosts to their lines.

The second half was much of a balanced affair with City Stars having the early chance through former Kenyan international Kevin Ochieng. The win was much of a boost for Ingwe who face arch rivals Gor Mahia on Sunday in the derby.
