AFC Leopards bowed out of the ongoing Sportpesa Super Cup after a narrow loss to Tanzanian Club Singida United through the sudden death penalties

 the match which was played at the Nakuru Afraha Stadium on Tuesday 6th.

The Rodolfo Zapata coached side managed to convert two penalties with the Tanzanian counterparts converting 4 to book their place in the semifinals of the cup.AFC Leopards will term the match as unlucky having seen a lot of missed chances, Singida United keeper being kept busy the whole match with goal saving heroics to denie ingwe

In the absence of club captain Duncan Otieno who is away for national team duties coach Zapata tasked defender Robinson Kamura with the armband and the captain was the leader on the pitch going close to scoring in a number of occasions. 

Leopards best chance came in the 35th minute when Ray Omondi forced a nice save from the Singida goalkeeper, in the 42nd minute Robinson Kamura came close with a fine taken free kick but Singida keeper still proved decisive again.

The tie went all square at halftime, in the second have leopards were the better side with impressive attacks which finally paid off in the 69th when Jaffrey Owiti was brought down in the penalty area which resulted in the penalty but Whyvonne Isuza failed to convert.

In 93rd minute Robinson Kamura’s free kick hit the post to denie ingwe a berth in the semifinals. The match ended 0-0 with the referre calling for sudden penalties.
