AFC Leopards continued with their fine run in the Sportpesa Premier League registering their third win in a row, the latest a 2-0 win against counterparts Chemelil in a match played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday 16th June 2018.
Coach Rodolfo Zapata opted for an Unchanged X1 maintaining the same squad that saw off Sofapaka last Wednesday. AFC Leopards as expected from the fans controlled proceedings from kick off with Isuzza going close in the 10th minute but was denied by the woodwork.
Chemelil’s best chance of the half fell onto Felix Olouch who twisted to go past Salim Abdalla to unleash a thunderbolt that was parred away by goalkeeper Ezekiel Owade.
The first half drew to a 0-0 close.
In the Second half Zapata introduced Ezekiel Odera coming in for Clyde Senaji and the forward proved to be difference heading home in the 73rd minute after a Moses Mburu throw in giving Leopards a slim advantage over the millers.
However, Zapata’s men were handed a penalty with two minutes left on the clock when Phillip Mwangale brought down Owiti after he cut back to get through on goal. Odera stepped forward to slot home from the spot sealing three important points for Ingwe.
Leopards now move to third in the log having joint points with Sofapaka but ingwe carrying a superior goal difference.
