Goals from Fredrick Shimonyo and Fredrick Nyarombo were enough for the powermen to register ‘routine’ win over Ingwe
Western Stima continued their dominance against AFC Leopards away from home after they won 2-1 in a league match played on Wednesday.
Fredrick Shimonyo and Fredrick Nyarombo scored for Stima to ensure they picked six points in two matches. Cliffton Miheso pulled one back for Leopards.
Stima started well with Francis Ocholla bothering the Leopard’s backline from time to time. His efforts resulted in a first corner that Lucas Indeche punched out of play. Within the first quarter, Indeche had come out to stop five shots. The goal finally came in the 29th minute when Oketch set up Nyarombo to open up the scores.
AFC Leopards were forced to make an early substitution bringing in Ugandan import Allan Kateregga for Kevin Migunde in the 36th minute.
At the stroke of half time, Leopards brought in Clifford Miheso for Alfred Wekesa. Miheso took just six minutes to make his presence felt as he scored. But Shimonyo broke the hearts of Leopards fans with the second goal in the 88th minute. Leopards started with a lone striker and Kepha Aswani cut a lonely figure upfront.
Stima rested Nyarombo for Habert Kopany. Kopany missed with his first attempt at goal as he shot wide. Coach Ivan Minnaert drew his last card a minute later with Lamine Diallo coming in for Victor Omune but it was too late as Stima registered a ‘routine’ win against their rivals.
