AFC Leopards central defender Ken Owino will come up against his former employers Posta Ranger on Sunday for the first time since joining the Den in mid-season transfer window.

The two sides face off in a highly anticipated FKF Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

While Ingwe will be seeking to bounce back to their winning ways, for Owino, this a perfect chance for him to reunite with his former teammates and show them what they are missing.

The team lost 1-0 to Tusker FC before drawing 1-1 with Sofapaka FC in their previous fixtures.

Owino has been a key at the heart of the defense since crossing over from the mailmen in February. He made his debut during the FKF Cup round of 32 match against PAC University at Police Sacco Grounds.

“My stay in the Den has been great and I’m really enjoying life here. I have made many new friends in the team as well as fans. The reception was marvelous and it really helped me to settle down quickly. I am happy we’re one big family.

“Though I got a slight injury setback after joining the club, I managed to recover in time thanks to the club’s medics.

Owino is more than motivated to battle with his former teammates.

“I am ready and focused for the match. Of course, we had built a good relationship with Rangers players, but on Sunday it will be a battle for maximum points. I’m thinking of how we are going to play as a team and bounce back to winning ways. I just can’t wait to play against them as an opponent,” he said.

On the team’s preparations this week, this is what Owino had to say:

“Despite some climatic challenges we have had good preparations. The boys have really put in some good work, and we’re looking forward to the game on Sunday.”

Owino also urged fans to turn up in large numbers and continue rallying behind the team.

“We appreciate our fans’ support because without them, we wouldn’t be where we are now. I personally take this opportunity to welcome all of them in Machakos on Sunday. We won’t let them down.”

The match will kick off at 3.00pm and will also be live on Azam TV.
