AFC Leopards held league leaders Tusker to a barren draw at Kasarani on Sunday.
Leopards claimed a historic point away and also ensured that it is the first season that the team had gone unbeaten against Tusker in the league since 1998.
Noah Wafula and Jacob Keli started upfront as Patrick Matasi made a return to goal as Leopards sought to reduce the gap between the leaders to seven points.
The match started off slow paced as Tusker controlled the match in the first fifteen minutes. Leopards got themselves back in the game but Noah Wafula who found himself one on one with Odhiambo blazed his short over the bar as Humphrey Mieno’s shot also flew high just past the upright.

Tusker also came close severally with Patrick Matasi being called to action severally to save the day. The first half ended 0-0 with Leopards having dominated in terms of chances but Tusker enjoying possession.
Tusker took control of the second half forcing the Leopards’ backline to step up their alertness. Charles Okwemba came in for Bernard Mang’oli to bolster the midfield but the Tusker playing a highline defence contained Noah Wafula and Jacob Keli. Mieno rasping shot bounced of a Tusker player and went wide for a fruitless corner as Noah’s flick after a Keli cross went just wide. Edward Seda made a return to first team action after his surgery for Humphrey Mieno.
Patrick Matasi was called to action on several occasions in the second half, tipping away several corners Tusker won as the away crowd grew frustrated at the growing attacks from Tusker. The physical tie saw the sides enjoy a fair of casualties for both sides as the tie wound on.
Eric Masika’s extra time substitution for Jacob Keli was a little too late as the sides settled for a draw on the cold evening.
Leopards move to thirty points after the draw and ten points adrift Tusker who lead the log on forty.
