On Wednesday, the club had an opportunity to meet the President, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Cabinet Secretary for Sports Mr. Ababu Namwamba and Sports Kenya  Director General Engineer Pius Metto at State House, Nairobi.

The President was briefed about the INGWE at 60 celebrations, and he promised to attend the celebrations on March 24,2024 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Dr.Ruto also donated Ksh 10 million towards the event. Also, part of the discussions was the club going corporate and building their own training facility.

Also present during the meeting were AFC Leopards patron Mr. Alexander Muteshi, INGWE at 60 Committee chairman Elder Vincent Shimoli, AFC Leopards National Executive Committee members and the club’s secretariat.

AFC Leopards celebrated its birthday on March 12th with a series of activities. The club had several CSR activities on Tuesday with the AFC Leopards Ladies team visiting Woma Care Centre in Kawangware, AFC Leopards Youth Team visited Nile Road Special School while the senior team visited Shangilia Mtoto Africa Children’s Home in Kibagare.  In all the visits, AFC Leopards made a few donations and had a cake cutting ceremony. Finally, they headed to Shauri Moyo – the home of the founding father Mutoka, where the main celebrations took place – including a memorable cake cutting ceremony.

On Saturday March 16, the club will have Inter-branches football tournament at the Camp Toyoyo and Lower Jericho grounds in Jericho Estate before the finals to be held at Nyayo Stadium on March 23rd. As part of the festivities marking the club’s 60th anniversary, there will be a friendly match against Spanish side AE Ramassa on March 24th at the Nyayo National Stadium.
