AFC Leopards  members are preparing  for their Annual General Meeting that will be held  on 30th June at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.  On 1st June 2024 , the club’s National Executive Committee published  a provisional  membership list for the year 2024.

At  5482 members this year, it is the highest  number the club has registered since their inception in 1964. The club also saw the number  of registered  branches  increase from 54 to 81, which  signifies  a huge growth  in  the  club’s fan base and membership.  With only  3 matches left before the 2023/24 FKF-PL season  ends , AFC Leopards has been recording high numbers in terms  of stadium attendance this  season. The highlight being filling  Nyayo National Stadium in the return leg of the Mashemeji Derby.

Numbers

Bunyore Branch leads the list of registered branches  with the biggest number of members; recording 304 members in 2024 , followed by Vatican branch and Westlands branch  with 275 and 177 members respectively. Other branches  in the best ten category include : Eastlands, Kayole, Executive, Kawangware Stage 2, Facebook, Amani Woodley and Buruburu. All these registered  more than 100 members.

The club registered 27 new branches. They include : Cheptulu, Embakasi South, Friends Forever, Gachie, Great Kakamega, Kabete, Kabras, Kajiado, Kangemi 23, Khayega, Langata, Lavington, Lenana, Lirhanda, Mavoko Athi-River, Mowlem, Musoli, Skyway, Thika Road, Tsunami, U45 Unit, Umoja 3, Uthiru, Vihiga, Westlands and Wisdom. We also had one branch from diaspora  registering – Toronto Branch in Canada.

According to the club’s Chairman of Chairmen, Mr. .Franklin Imbenzi, “Membership registration is an important revenue  stream to the club and being a member of this great club gives you a strong sense of belonging and personal pride. As a member it also gives you an opportunity to  grow  socially as you are able to interact with people from different spheres during club activities.”

Mr.Hossea Kisienya, Secretary General of the Chairman of the Chairmen caucus, lauded the members for registering in numbers. He says that his committee  has lined up a couple  of activities this year.

“Members  should expect a revamped members welfare through the Ingwe Yamatere Members Welfare that will be able to handle the benevolence affairs of our members. Registration is already on by July 15th it will be up and running. There will be more  InterBranches football, which will work towards bringing cohesion among the fans, especially on days the senior team is not playing. Finally, with the guidance of the National Executive Committee, we are looking forward to having membership cards.”

To be an AFC Leopards SC member one is required to pay an annual subscription fee of 1200/= for new membership registration and 1000/= for membership renewal.

HOW TO BE AN AFC  SC MEMBER

There are two ways of becoming an AFC Leopards’ Member

  1. Joining and paying through a branch

We have many branches across the country. Through these branches, you’re able to take part in various social activities like traveling together for matches and CSR/Charity activities.

Different branches have different registration fees depending on the number of social activities they engage in annually.

  • Paying your annual subscription directly via the club’s bank account or Paybill number

You can decide not to be a member of any branch but just be an independent AFC Leopards member.
