Ahead of Sunday’s crucial league fixture against Tusker, head coach Tomas Trucha sat down with afcleopards.co.ke and shared his views about upcoming fixtures and his vision heading into the latter stages of the season.

1. Congratulations, coach, for being voted the fans coach  of the week. Does this motivate you to push the boys to more success?

For me it’s evident that our fan base is growing so, it is nice to be awarded but it belongs to players and we all thankful for fans support and it is a very good gesture from them. We are definitely motivated to work hard and push for better performances and results.

2. Any word to the fans as they prepare to travel to Machakos this Sunday for the match?

Come in numbers and let’s paint the stadium all blue and white. We are happy that more and more fans coming to watch our matches. When we scored our first goal in our last game against Nzoia Sugar FC and the entire stadium went into a frenzy, we all felt how special our fans are.

3. The two most form teams in the league clash on Sunday, what’s  your  take about this game vs Tusker?

Its big one. Tusker FC is back on track with very experienced coach always hungry to beat AFC Leopards, for us is the match to see how far we are in our project and how high we can go on the log this season.

4. Do we have any injury concerns or additions in the team as we face Tusker ?

We have but it’s part of a game and all players must be ready to give their best.

5. What’s your take on the current competition for position in the team ?

If the club wants to fight for title, competition must be on every position, so we still have some work to do to have balance in team. but all players are doing good job on trainings and matches now and putting me every day under pressure who to play.

6. How is the mood like in the camp as we face off Tusker on Sunday?

I believe that mood is good because of the results we have been achieving.  We know we still have some big room for improvement but with good results it is easy to motivate players to work hard for the next match. We respect every opponent in the FKF-PL as we work towards winning our match.
