The Boss Outlines Plan For The League Opener And Season Objectives

AFC Leopards will target a top five finish, Coach Stewart Hall has said. Hall was speaking during the club’s jersey launch and team unveiling in Limuru on Friday morning.

Stewart Hall noted that the team had shown tremendous progress especially during the pre-season, and that he hoped for an improved show this season. He was however, quick to slow down any big expectations from the fan saying, “ We sought to build this team through two transfer windows. The transfer window in January was not sufficient and depending on our show this first leg, we then shall determine what happens in June.”

Hall said that his side has been training a 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 formations which he says will work for him this season. The coach praised the club’s new training home in Limuru, saying that it offered a conducive training and learning environment for the team. “ Besides the fantastic playing surface, we have lecture halls where we sit and tactically analyse our performance, learn the best systems and also watch video clips of the best players,” Hall said.

With the Leopard looking to start off its campaign against newly promoted Nakumatt FC on Sunday, Stewart Hall has exuded confidence that his side will come out on top. He was however, quick to mention that he expects Nakumatt to throw everything at his boys.

“We have a couple of former AFC Leopards players playing at Nakumatt. We released them because they either were not good enough or had bad influence in the team. We are expecting them to throw everything at us, but we are prepared.”

Ingwe on Friday morning officially unveiled its new players, amongst them Ghanaian Gilbert Fiamenyo, Robinson Kamura, Salim Abdallah, Gabriel Andika, Whyvonne Isuza amongst others. The team will be captained by Bernard Mangoli, while Paul Kiongera and Duncan Otieno will be his assistants.
